Many of our guests ask about property when visiting Serre Chevalier, and we are occasionally asked by friends, clients and local agents to market their properties on our site.
Serre Chevalier offers a real variety of property. It’s not a purpose-built ski resort, so you will find brand new apartment developments right next to traditional village houses which are often more than 300 years old.
Briançon (1200-1300m altitude), one of Europe’s highest towns at 1200m, has a medieval fort known as the Cité Vauban. Here, enormous town houses and renovated apartments are outstanding value for money.
Chantemerle (1350m altitude) and Villeneuve (1400m altitude) are often referred to as the heart of Serre Chevalier, with fast access to the pistes in winter and the summer months of July and August. You’ll find all types of properties, from old village houses, new developments with indoor pools, luxury chalets popping up high above the resort of Chantemerle and near the lifts in Villeneuve, and traditional value-for-money apartments in residences that date back to the 70s and 80s.
Le Bez (1400m altitude) is linked to Villeneuve and offers old village houses and chalets.
Le Monetier les Bains (1500m altitude) is at the highest end of the valley and is mostly north-facing which means the snow holds well into the winter season, ensuring skiing right up until the second or third week of April. An alpine spa village which boasts one of Europe’s largest thermal spas, it is, many say, the most desirable place in Serre Chevalier to own a ski property. Recently there are many renovations of old village houses, a new build with outdoor pool and more new build residences on the way.
