Les Grands Bains – thermal spa Monêtier
Les Grands Bains is Serre Chevalier’s thermal spa – one of Europe’s largest thermal baths – in the village of Le Monêtier les Bains. The complex was built in 2008 and attracts visitors from all over France and further afield. From outside and in, you’ll enjoy the views of Monêtier’s very own glacier and North-facing mountains. Piscine du Chazelay – Villeneuve Le Bez
The restaurant Le Chazelay, situated near the Casse de Boeuf chairlift which runs in summer, has its own outdoor swimming pool, sunloungers and grassy terrain for sunbathing. Clients of the restaurant enjoy free entry – why not choose something from their fabulous menu and have lunch by the pool? Lots of parking nearby. Piscine Municipale Salle Les Alpes
This is the local swimming pool with lanes, exceptionally run and a great place to relax – indoor only. Website here.
Piscine Hotel Plein Sud – Chantemerle
Spend a day or two by the heated pool at the Hotel Plein Sud in Chantemerle. Clients of the restaurant can access the pool free of charge; arrive mid morning, have lunch by the pool on the sunny terrace and then stay on for “apéro” (apéritif/early evening drinks) and tapas! The hotel is directly off the Route Nationale that runs through the valley (uphill from Allée des Boutiques). Website here.
Parc 1326 – Briançon
A must-visit for children who love water slides and outside grassy areas to run around on. There are three indoor pools: along with a warm baby pool with mini-slide, there is a 300m2 warm pool with bubble beds, waterfalls and jets plus a 65m long giant water slide, and then a 25m traditional swimming pool. With extensive and well kept grassy sunbathing terrain, there is another 25m pool and a fun paddling pool for young ones. Bring your own picnic or use the on-site cafe for snacks and ice creams.
